Annapurna Region Mardi Himal 5587m Altitude 5587m | | | | They were extremely professional and dutiful in looking after us. The equipment used was first class & the porter/sherpas were all well prepared for the conditions. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend Sherpa Shangri-La for their professional handling of all our requirements. I shall certainly be using them again. | | Senior mtn. guide - Vaisey Bramley, United Kingdom | | A trek to the Mardi Himal takes you into one of the most untouched areas of the Himalayas. There are few villages as the majority of this trek is in wilderness that culminates with spectacular close up views of Machhapuchare - the 'Fishtail Mountain'. Our treks in the Mardi Himal are also special in that they are organized with the first women owned trekking agency and our women trekking guides provide a unique insight into the culture of this region. A rare opportunity for the first time or seasoned trekker to experience Nepal how it used to be. Our trek to Mardi Himal is a fully escorted camping trek with western leader. | | The climb is on boulders, scree and snow, all of which present little difficulty. The summit can be attained in a few hours from the top camp, and the views (when it is clear) are simply amazing. The location of the mountain, just outside the entrance to the Sanctuary, means that we can see into the famous cirque of mountains whilst still being able to see mountains like Dhaulagiri to the west and Manaslu to the east. After the climb, we descend to the idyllic lakeside town of Pokhara. | | |
