Eastern Nepal Makalu Base Camp Trek. Altitude 5000m.
You can make an outstanding trek in eastern Nepal from either Hile or Tumlingtar by walking north up the Arun River to Sedua and Num, then crossing Shipton La into the upper Barun Khola Valley for a close look at Makalu & Chamlang. The trek to Makalu base camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. The Burun valley is part of a huge international protected area under an agreement between Nepal & China.
Some groups have attempted an even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col & west Col into the upper Hongu Besi. This trek has proved itself difficult & potentially very dangerous. If you want to go into the upper Hongu Besi & the Panch Pokhari situated there.
