Everest Base Camp Kalapather Trek Maximum altitude 5545m | | | | | This is my absolute life changing experience for me and you can be sure to see me again in the near future, and ultimately I dream of being in one of your Everest expeditions, after a few years of climbing experience of course. Chat again in the near future!...Thank you again for everything! | | Laetitia Scheepers, Nelspruit, South Africa | | This trek has “everything”. The fitter walker can get very close to Mt. Everest on this trek, ascending Kala Patthar for the finest views of the whole massif including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse & Pumori. An ideal trek for those wising to make the full Everest trek, yet who also have an interest in the local traditions and culture. | The Khumbu or Everest region is the most popular trekking area in Nepal. It would probably be the most popular destination; Solu Khumbu is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain (8848 meters), but also for its Sherpa villages and monasteries. The primary goal of an Everest trek is the Everest base camp at an elevation of about 5340 meters. But you cannot see Everest from the base camp, so most trekkers climb Kala Pattar, an unassuming 5545-meter bump on the southern flank of Pumori (7145 meters). | | |
